NRS (National Readership Survey)
The National Readership Survey (NRS), measures the average number of readers per issue of 260 national newspapers, newspaper supplements and consumer magazines. Publishers and advertisers agree methodologies and the current research contract is held by an independent research agency, Ipsos MORI, who have a long history of running the NRS.
NRS provides an estimate of the number of readers of a publication and who those readers are in terms of sex, age, regionality and many other demographic and lifestyle characteristics. This is used by publishers of newspapers and magazines, advertisers and advertising agencies to plan, buy and sell advertising space in print media.
