“The most impressive big fish for 25 years” caught from Norfolk broads.
Angling Times this week unveils a huge 45 lb pike – the biggest ever to come from a UK river (and the fourth biggest recorded Pike of all time).
The Norfolk Broads is a venue steeped in pike fishing history, having produced two British records back in the 1980s. However more recently, the area had been “written off” by many fishing experts, who believed that otters had jeopardised big pike in the Broads.
Now it seems the glory days are back, with the bagging of the biggest ever Broads pike, which was caught by a retired 62 year-old scaffolder, who has been fishing the area for almost 20 years. What makes it even more remarkable is that this massive pike has come from a natural venue, not a trout stuffed reservoir.
The story is covered exclusively in this week’s Angling Times, on sale from today.
