Bauer Media Relaunch Radio Websites

Bauer Media this week announces a major roll out of newly-designed radio websites, aimed at improving the consumer and advertiser experience on its 42 stations across Great Britain and Northern Ireland. 13m listeners tune in to Bauer stations each week and the new websites are designed to extend on air audiences to online.

The new sites are built with a stronger focus around editorial content, and scalable opportunities for commercial partners. The first Bauer Media stations to benefit from the investment will be some of the largest city stations in the Bauer portfolio - London's Magic 105.4, Manchester's Key 103, and Glasgow's Clyde1.

The sites will focus on delivering more local content and opportunities from our editorial teams, each based in the cities and communities the station serves.

The introduction of a consistent design will provide national clients with one joined-up platform that can deliver scale and access to over 1.4m music fans on line every month.

New features such as full page takeovers and a focus on video have been built in to deliver new creative options and audience reach.  One of the biggest benefits to advertisers will be a simplified sales process across all sites to make buying across the Bauer Radio portfolio easy.

The new web site project was a joint effort by Bauer's local design and development team in Manchester lead by Aaron Cornish and the London Radio Online team lead by Bruce Mitchell. Both teams worked to deliver a product that combined all the best learnings from across Bauer Radio to deliver a new common commercial and editorial solution that will be easy for consumers to use and for clients to buy.

Bruce Mitchell, Head of Digital for Bauer Radio London, commented:

"According to Nielson UKOM a Bauer Radio user views more pages, more times in a month and spends longer on our websites than most other commercial radio sites and our objective is to drive this reach higher through content that connects with audiences across the country.

Iain Clasper, Development Director for Bauer Radio, commented:

"Online audiences are vital to Bauer's continued growth and our new sites will allow us to take another major step in connecting audiences with compelling and bespoke content which reflects our on air commitment.  It also ensures flexibility for our commercial partners who can now work with us by station, region, or across the entire portfolio easily."
