Bauer Media Scotland Increase Commitment to New Music

Bauer Media Scotland today set out plans for further investment in its massively successful In:Demand portfolio with the addition of In:Demand Uncut, a new platform to showcase the best emerging talent and new releases.

Launching on 1st May, In:Demand Uncut will be fronted by the voice of new music in Scotland, Jim Gellatly. The show, to be broadcast from 7pm-10pm on Sundays, will be an entry point for credible new music and showcase the best up and coming bands and artists from Indie, Hip Hop and Rock music genres. It will be broadcast across Bauer Media's Clyde 1, Forth 1, Tay FM, Westsound, Radio Borders and Northsound 1.

Jim's show will contain new up and coming acts, live performances, interviews and reviews and will also reflect on the influences and the journey of music over the past years, referencing the present to the past.

In:Demand Scotland, fronted by Romeo, will bring the biggest bands and artists to audiences across the country. In:Demand Scotland will continue to be broadcast from 7pm-10pm weeknights across the network (8pm-10pm on Clyde 1) with its focus being the first place to hear new mainstream pop music.

In:Demand's presenter Romeo speaks the listeners language whilst giving them access to the biggest stars in music, the chance to win once in a lifetime prizes or must have gig tickets, and introduces them to the hottest tracks around. The hugely succesful show will continue to produce lively, compelling, stand out radio moments with guests and content you won't hear anywhere else.

In addition, and as part of Bauer's continued commitment to music in Scotland and its ongoing promise to exceed audience expectations, Bauer has announced its In:Demand Live Summer event which will take place at Glasgow's SECC on June 18, 2011, following on from the success of last year's event.

Bauer Media is committed to supporting emerging talent in Scotland and has established a joint venture with record producer John McLaughin; Protobeat Records. Carrie Mac, the first artist signed to Protobeat, will release her new single, 'Till I See You Again,' on May 1st.

Graham Bryce, Managing Director of Bauer Media Scotland, said: "Investment in In:Demand underlines our relentless commitment to be at the forefront of music in Scotland. Our shows deliver a unique blend of new music for our listeners ensuring they stay at the forefront of what is relevant right now.

"We want our listeners to be involved in everything we do. Whether it be streaming exclusive listener only 'canteen sessions' with emerging acts, broadcasting UK commercial radio exclusives with Rihanna or Cheryl Cole or even creating an online portal that gives local Scottish bands the chance to be on the show, interactivity is at the heart of In:Demand Scotland.

"The company has underlined its dominance in the Scottish commercial radio market place and the In:Demand changes reflect our wide reaching strategy to further cement our position."
