Bauer Media Triumphs at the Arqiva Awards

Bauer Media took five Awards at The Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards, more than any other broadcaster, including Station of the Year for Hallam FM (1m+ TSA).
The Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards, now in their 15th year, are organised by RadioCentre, the industry body for commercial radio, and recognise excellence and talent in all aspects of commercial radio.
Bauer Media won two of the three Presenter of the Year Awards for Moray Firth Radio’s Knoxy (<300 TSA) and 96.3 Radio Aire’s Rich Williams (300,000 to 1m TSA). Hot on the heels of Moray Firth's Sony Station of the Year success, Knoxy was applauded for being ‘vibrant, funny and a great Ambassador for the station’, while Rich at 96.3 Radio Aire’s was described by Judges as ‘a real self-starter with a knowledge of Leeds that gives him a unique edge over the competition’ .
As well as taking the Station of the Year Award, Hallam FM also won the Radio Marketing Award for ‘Get me to the Church on time’. The station was described by Judges as possessing ‘fantastic marketing activity and community interaction.’
Radio City scooped Radio Feature of the Year Award for Louise Martin’s Afghan Diaries – On the Front Line, described by judges as ‘emotive and totally honest’. Louise bagged a Sony nomination earlier this year for the same programme.
Dee Ford, Group MD Radio, Bauer Media said: "This is a night that celebrates exceptional talent and creativity, and I know that the standard of entrants was higher than ever. It is therefore a real achievement just to be nominated. Please join me in congratulating everyone, and especially our winners who were rightly recognised for standing out amongst the competition."
