Clare has worked on the title for four years, most recently as Gardening Editor, and is a trained horticulturist and fanatical gardener. Clare is one of Bauer Media's brightest stars, having graduated from its own “Peter Bolt” journalism diploma, just three years ago.

Despite the recession, gardening is booming. Sales of gardening products at garden centres were up 31% year on year in April, driven by the "Grow Your Own" boom. There have also been marked changes in consumer behaviour, with consumers taking less holidays, and choosing to spend more time off in their own gardens instead.
Clare Foggett adds:
“I'm thrilled to be taking over from Neil Pope at the helm of Garden News. It's been a long time since gardening has been considered cool, but it seems the nation has realised that gardening is a hobby to shout about, and it has never been so popular. There will be some exciting and challenging times ahead as we try to make the most of this new mood, and rake in new readers!”
