Exclusive Concert Series Across Big City Network

Festivities are breaking out early at Bauer Media’s radio division as a series of exclusive Christmas concerts kicks off tonight. At 9pm this evening an Oasis concert recorded live on their recent visit to the SECC in Glasgow will be broadcast across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland on the Big City Network (BCN).
On Christmas Day, from 7pm, listeners will be treated to the Stereophonics, The Feeling and Scouting For Girls, followed on Boxing Day at the same time by The Scissor Sisters, The Sugababes and Snow Patrol. An extended 90 minute version of tonight’s Oasis concert will be broadcast on New Years Day at 5.30pm.
Steve King, Programme Director at BCN said “Over 4.7m people a week listen to our Big City Network of 20 local heritage radio stations. Our leading position in the market enables us to offer the widest audience and through our excellent relationships we can offer exclusive events from the UK’s leading bands.
We are a respected voice in our local community and through continual research understand the lives and musical tastes of our audience. We are committed to providing high quality exclusive events, such as our 2009 festive schedule from the bands that most resonate with our listeners. These events are embedded into each Big City station’s programming at times when listeners are seeking largely entertainment based content. This series will compliment the high quality local output that each of our stations will also be providing this Christmas.”
