Ric Blaxill Appointed Head of Music, Big City Network

Bauer Media today announced Ric Blaxill has been appointed Head of Music, Big City Network, Bauer Media.

In this newly created role, Ric will work with our Regional MDs to capture more audience share and operate their local infrastructure to even better effect.  He will also advise our Programme Directors of Bauer Media's 20-strong network of stations across the North of England and Scotland as they continue to develop compelling local programming and decide the music our stations play.

In addition, Ric has also been tasked to develop strategic creative relationships with record labels and promoters.

In doing so, he will work alongside key senior music team from Magic 105.4 and Kiss, including Magic’s PD Pete Simmons and Head of Music Sheena Mason; and Kiss’ Group PD Andy Roberts, Head of Music Christian Smith and Music Enterprise Manager James Harris. Together this highly experienced, creative team will form a strong powerhouse in promoting Bauer Media's depth of talent and music credentials to the market.

Ric takes up his new role on 26 October 2009. He will be based at Mappin House and report to Steve Parkinson, MD, Bauer Radio London.
