Lead singer of one of the biggest heavy metal bands in the world drops into the studios of Kerrang! Radio for a world exclusive.
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor brought a copy of the new album by his side-project Stone Sour to the Birmingham studios – to give listeners a WORLD EXCLUSIVE first play of the album.
Twenty listeners got the chance to hang out with Corey for the playback on July 30th.
They heard the album before anyone else and then walked away with a limited edition signed Stone Sour/Kerrang! print.
In rock circles, Corey Taylor is an internationally worshipped heavy metal legend. As lead singer of Slipknot, famous for their masks and ghoulish outfits and on stage performances, Taylor rarely makes appearances, least of all spent personal time with audiences.
“I love Kerrang! It’s all about rock and we appreciate the support we get – but it’s the fans that count the most to us obviously and to be able to hang out with them is the best feeling” said Taylor. “It’s just good to talk with fans although we had a late night at the Kerrang! Awards last night so I’m not feeling too hot today. I think I disguised it well!”.
“Corey was a gentlemen – he sat with the listeners throughout the album and chatted” said Kerrang! Radio presenter Loz Guest. “It’s a world exclusive album playback too, which is a money-can’t-buy experience for the fans”.
