You will need to know how to find, tell and develop stories with flair and creativity. You should have experience of reading bulletins, be organised and able to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
You should be confident in using a full range of social and multi-media tools to deliver a successful multi-platform news experience for our audience on-air, on-line and across social media.
We pride ourselves on our engaging, unique, targeted content and we will expect you to meet the same high standards. In return you will be given regular coaching, a clear progression pathway and the opportunity to work on some of the biggest brands in the UK.
Free Radio is part of Bauer Media and our stories regularly feature on national stations such as Absolute Radio, Kiss and Magic.
This role will require you to be out in the field gathering content, so you should have a valid driving licence. Being versatile and flexible in your working hours is vital as is an excellent knowledge of broadcast law.
The Free Radio News Team is based in Birmingham, but we cover the whole of the West Midlands. A knowledge of the region would be a bonus as would an established contacts book, but this is not essential.
