Key103 Ladies Lunch
Celebrity Big Brother winner and new host Rylan Clark along with Danny Miller ex-Emmerdale and Gaz from Geordie Shore made the day of over 600 women at the Cash for Kids Ladies Lunch Old Trafford last Friday.
Key103 Breakfast’s Chelsea Spokes, hosted the charity’s annual event in the Manchester Suite at Old Trafford, a fundraising dinner to help local disadvantaged children, this year kindly sponsored by visit Malta. Guests were welcomed with a string quartet and a champagne reception, followed by a fabulous 3 course dinner during which they were serenaded by crooner Cole Page. Chelsea was introduced on stage by her ‘studded studs,’ two very trim hotties wearing little more than short leather pants, a studded collar and a lead; you can imagine the welcome they got from a room full of ladies!
Entertainment for the day included a catwalk fashion show hosted by John Lewis Cheadle, showcasing their Summer bright pastels, a fundraising auction which raised a staggering amount for the charity. Over £4500 was raised for a box at the Manchester Arena to see Rihanna and over £1700 to be a mascot on the pitch at the Manchester united legends event on June 2nd. Event sponsors visit Malta also donated a fabulous all inclusive, 5 star holiday for 2 people including spa bedroom accommodation for 7 nights.
During the lunch, as at any good party, Charity Manager Emma Brown organised a game of pass the parcel…. with a difference. When the ladies opened their parcels they found nothing, much the same as many disadvantaged children across Greater Manchester find on the table when they get home. This brought home the harsh reality that 1 in 3 children go to be without a hot meal on a daily basis and then onto school hungry the following day. Guests were asked for donations to help those children so Cash for Kids could help provide a decent meal. On returning their boxes from each table with the donations each guest took back a gift in return. This alone raised over £4000!
Rylan, Danny and Gaz were brought on stage by one lucky lady who introduced them ‘Blind Date’ style. All three were behind a screen on stage waiting to answer the three questions on her cards. After selecting the winning answer from Rylan, he burst through a paper screen much to the delight of the whole audience, closely followed by Danny and Gaz. Almost all of the 600 excited ladies rushed to the front of the stage to get a closer look!
To round off the afternoon the surprise guest, Rylan Clark took to the stage and performed a ‘Rylan’ version of Gangnam style, took a question and answer session with Chelsea and her audience and finished off with a ‘Spice Girl’ medley, which only he could do with such style!
Another fantastic day was had by all who attended and an amazing £59,000 was raised that will all go back into Greater Manchester to help local disadvantaged children.
