Jazz FM

Jazz FM is the UK’s largest jazz media celebrating the best in jazz, soul and blues across the UK and the world.

As the home of jazz, soul and blues, our musical output is unique and features eclectic new music alongside well-known pieces by the legends of jazz. Our music is selected by the UK’s finest presenters, each an expert in their field, who take you through a magical collection of programmes, from Business Breakfast to Dinner Jazz, with weekends providing landmark moments of musical discovery.

Discovery

The Jazz FM playlist is one of the most innovative in UK radio. Not only do we celebrate the heritage of the music, but we introduce our music-hungry audience to thousands of new artists and compositions each and every year. Gregory Porter and Kamasi Washington got their first major exposure on Jazz FM before going on to conquer the world.

Each week we also broadcast over 40 hours of musical discovery from presenters such as Jez Nelson, Helen Mayhew, Chris Philips, YolanDa Brown, Sarah Ward and Clare Teal amongst others, each with their personally curated playlists. The wide range of musical colour is represented, from world music to the avant-garde via electronica and blues.

Staple programming in the form of Dinner Jazz and Late Night China Moses bring each evening to a close in the most relaxing way.

Live Music

Performance is at the centre of jazz, and we reflect this in various ways across the station, from programmes that celebrate nothing but live music, be it concert, studio or session material, to interviews with those at the heart of the industry.

Jazz FM co-founded the Love Supreme Jazz Festival in Glynde, East Sussex. Each year we broadcast from the sun-drenched arena over the first weekend of July, featuring live interviews and multiple performances from the many stages across the festival. We also support small, medium and large concerts and venues right across the UK, as the jazz community is at the centre of everything we do.

The Jazz FM Awards

The Jazz FM Awards celebrate the best in contemporary jazz, soul and blues, from rising stars to international musicians and established British artists. Now firmly established in the UK and international jazz calendar, previous winners and performers at this star-studded event have included The Rolling Stones, Pat Metheny, Dame Cleo Laine, George Benson, Gregory Porter, Esperanza Spalding, Ramsey Lewis and Jamie Cullum, who have joined us from all four corners of the globe for the central London event.

Outside Broadcasts

Our award-winning take on outside broadcasts means that we are the go-to brand to be part of an event. Not only do we broadcast from the Love Supreme Jazz Festival, but we are one of the broadcast partners of the annual EFG London Jazz Festival, alongside jazz festivals in St Lucia, Lviv (Ukraine), New Orleans and so many more. We have travelled all over the world with various tourism brands, presenting our programmes from international destinations such as Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, the USA, Italy and Oman.
