Job Title: Flatplanner

Department/Location: Ad Production – Media House, Peterborough

Reports to: Ad Production Manager

Your working Pattern: Monday-Friday 9am – 5.30pm (37.5 Hours)

Our Team:

As a member of the Advertising Production department, you will have working relationships and interaction with a variety of departments in the production of our publications i.e. Sales teams, creative, Editorial, IT and Marketing, as well as our valued external customers. The job can be challenging and require you to juggle many tasks at any one time, as well as requiring you to work towards set deadlines and help the advertising department obtain targets. To help balance the pressures of the role, the advertising department offers a lively, competitive environment where the emphasis is on ‘fun’ and dedication to the task and support of other team members, are of equal importance.

The focus of your role:

In this role, you will be the link between the Specialist magazine sales teams, editorial teams and various other support departments. You will be responsible for ensuring that all advertising booked, is planned on the magazine flatplan and in the correct positions, in line with the scheduled deadlines. You will responsible for communicating unsold / sold space allocations and for being the lynchpin between all departments in the closure of each publication in the lead up to press.


What you’ll do:

Our advertising clients are absolutely central to everything we do. As a Flatplanner, you’ll be a key part of ensuring that the flatplan is a true representation of what the issue will need to be created too, in terms of advertising. You’ll be responsible for:
- Working with teams across the Specialist markets
- Building up key and trusting relationships with all teams
- Knowing your brands inside out and being proactive around space issues.
- Flagging any potential risks to deadline / production in a timely manner
