The UK’s biggest monthly photo magazine needs a talented deputy editor!
What would your job look like?
Practical Photography’s new deputy editor will work closely with the editor and art editor to create the best print and digital content possible. This includes planning and creating innovative features and videos, interviewing the world’s best photographers and working with a team of brilliant writers and tech heads.
Practical Photography is home to a thriving reader-led community across multiple social media platforms, a popular YouTube channel with over 2.1 million views and one of Bauer’s biggest-selling digital editions. All we need now is a deputy editor to help us realise the next phase of the brand’s evolution.
This is a full-time position based at Media House, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
What skills do you need?
- You’ll need a clear editorial vision, an intimate understanding of the magazine’s readership, a desire to collaborate and develop strong working relationships with our production and art editors, and an attention to detail that borders on the obsessive.
- Excellent management skills will prove invaluable, as you’ll be leading and developing a hugely talented team of section editors and writers. Overseeing the day-to-day flow of content, it’ll be your job to make sure quality control is consistently high.
- You’ll need to be bursting at the seams with brilliant ideas, able to build content strategy across all platforms, and organise content production and deadlines with militant efficiency.
Would you suit this job?
This job would be perfect for an ambitious section editor looking to progress or an experienced deputy editor in need of an exciting new challenge. Passion, vision and creativity are, of course, absolutely essential.
