Job Title: Editorial Assistant, RAIL magazine

Your working Pattern:
(hours & Contract type) Full time hours – Fixed Term Contract maternity cover - 12 months

Our Team: We are a small hardworking and reliable team who work with many other departments within Bauer, such as B2B (Business to Business) events and sales. Externally we deal with members of Parliament and high profiled professionals within the RAIL industry on a daily basis.

 The focus of your role:

Are you super organised? Do you like being part of a small hardworking and reliable team? The primary function of this role is to assist the rest of the editorial team in producing high-quality and timely content. This currently includes a fortnightly magazine (RAIL), two websites (RAIL and RailReview), a quarterly publication (RailReview) and an email newsletter.

What you’ll do:

This is a varied role with many different elements. This includes general administration tasks such as transcribing interviews, arranging travel and making payments to contributors. It also includes being PA to the Managing Editor, where you will be in charge of diary management, expenses and coordinating the editors event attendance. As well as this you will assist in RAIL events throughout the year, heavily involving the National Rail Awards. This includes managing all entries, looking after the judging panel, arranging meetings and shortlisting presentations as well as being a first point of contact.
