KISS FM’s Melvin Odoom wins Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 2016

KISS FM presenter Melvin Odoom beat five other former contestants to win this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas competition.

Melvin went head to head with Olympian and presenter, Denise Lewis, Pop star, Frankie Bridge, Writer and actress, Pamela Stephenson, Celebrity chef, Ainsley Harriott and TV presenter, Gethin Jones.

This year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special went to the movies as couples performed dances inspired by festive favourite films including Home Alone, Polar Express, Love Actually, Meet Me in St Louis, Elf and Frozen. 

Melvin was crowned the winner of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special with his professional partner Janette Manrara and together they lifted the famous Silver Star trophy. The Christmas champions scored a perfect 40 from the Judges for their Charleston to ‘Sparklejolly-Twinklejingley’ inspired by the movie Elf. The Judges scores were combined with the votes from the studio audience to decide the winner.

Tess Daly announced Melvin and Janette as the Christmas champions before presenting them with the famous Silver Star trophy.

Melvin said: “This is the best Christmas ever.  I’m going to put this trophy on my front door so people will know. ”

Congratulations to Melvin and Janette on their Strictly victory!
