Noel Gallagher Hosted a Special One-Off show for Absolute Radio as Part of their Real Music Matters Campaign

This week on Absolute Radio, fans were treated to a one off evening show hosted by Noel Gallagher who was joined by long-time friend and collaborator, comedian, Matt Morgan in a jam-packed show filled with banter and Noel’s top music choices.

Noel shared never before heard stories and anecdotes with listeners, revealing that he turned down performing at Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich’s wedding, his obsession with namesake Noel Edmonds and car troubles with close pal Russell Brand as well as recounting the very moment he met one of his idols, David Bowie.

The programme was part of a brand new series of shows on the station, featuring music legend guest-hosts who’ll enjoy total artistic freedom as they choose the music, tell the stories behind the songs, invite their own guests and bring in their instruments to jam on air.

Suede’s Brett Anderson has already taken to the airwaves on Absolute Radio while Simple Minds’ Jim Kerr, continues his series of shows on the 20th and 27th of February and on the 5th March before Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie takes the mic on the 12th and 19th March.
