Absolute Radio’s Hometime Show to expand across the network as one show with seven playlists

Absolute Radio’s much-loved afternoon show ‘Hometime with Bush & Richie’ is set to expand across its network of stations. From Monday 23rd September – a date which marks the show’s first anniversary – Andy Bush and Richie Firth will begin broadcasting one live programme with seven playlists.

This innovation pioneered by Absolute Radio uses world-leading technology to allow listeners the ability to interact with live shows whilst selecting music to suit their tastes. Having seen great success with The Dave Berry Breakfast Show, ‘Hometime’ will be heard across all digital stations simultaneously, including Absolute 80s, Absolute Radio 90s and Absolute Classic Rock. Having delivered record hours and share over the past year, the move allows even more listeners the chance to enjoy the show, as well as offering extended reach for commercial partners.

The inaugural year for the Hometime Show has seen many highlights, including an 80s vs 90s set at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival – taken from a popular show segment where Bush and Richie go head to head with chosen records from the eras.

Paul Sylvester, Content Director for Absolute Radio said “Hometime with Bush and Richie is one of the most ambitious shows on UK radio and it’s really resonated with listeners. Using our innovative technology to offer up the show to more people while adding content to our decade stations was the obvious next step.”

Andy Bush and Richie Firth said “The last year on Hometime has been some of the most fun we’ve had and as we celebrate one year on air we’re really excited for the show to grow and broadcast across the whole for the Absolute Radio Network.”

The change also sees Chris Martin taking on a new evening show on Absolute 80s and Leona Graham hosts a new evening on show on Absolute Classic Rock.

The new schedule comes into effect from Monday 23rd September.
