Bauer Media brands to broadcast special panel show ‘We Need To Talk About Women’s Safety’

Following the tragic death of Sarah Everard, conversations have sparked across the country around women’s safety. To explore the issues in more depth and discuss next steps from here, Bauer Media is launching ‘We Need To Talk About Women’s Safety’; a panel show and safe space where women can share their experiences, men can share their allyship, and people can understand and pledge their support for things to change.

Airing on Wednesday 31st March at 8pm, the show will feature special guests from across media, the Government and organisations, including #ReclaimTheseStreets’ Jamie Klingler, MHFA England and #YesAllMen’s Simon Blake, Femicide Census’ Karen Ingala Smith, Jess Phillips MP and anti-stalking campaigner Samantha Bumford.

It will be broadcast across Bauer Media magazine and radio brand Facebook pages, including Closer, Grazia, heat, Hits Radio, Greatest Hits Radio, Absolute Radio and Magic Radio. It follows ‘Women’s Safety: What Can Men Do?’, a show hosted by Bauer Media’s Scottish radio stations panel earlier this month, which focused on how men could get involved and play their part.

Lucie Cave, Bauer Media presenter, on hosting the event and its importance: “Like most women, Sarah’s death bit me to the core. I used to live in Clapham and walked down the same streets as she did, often alone, often late at night. It’s such an important dialogue and has sparked so much outrage and soul-searching. We can’t change the world in one discussion, but we can come together to reflect, connect and show that this is about everyone playing their part to drive societal change.”
