The Hits Radio brand launches with 6.5 million listeners 

Personality-led Breakfast Shows all see growth  

Record 61% of Bauer’s hours are delivered via digital platforms, and KISSTORY is first commercial all digital station to break 2m listeners


Bauer Media Group

  • Bauer Media’s overall reach is 17.7 million – growing 3% YoY
  • Digital reach is 12.2 million – growing 6% YoY
  • 61% of Bauer Media’s listening is via a digital device compared to commercial radio average of 52% - up 2% YoY
  • Hits Radio Brand launches with 6.5 million listeners
  • Sustained year on year growth across brands in London, including:
    • Absolute Radio (900,000 up 36% YoY)
    • KISS (2.1 million up 2% YoY)
    • KISSTORY (900,000 up 51% YoY - its highest reach ever)
    • Magic (1.7 million up 8% YoY)
  • Major national breakfast shows grow across the board, including:
    • Absolute Radio (2.2 million up 17% - its highest reach ever) – the number one commercial breakfast show
    • KISS (2.1 million up 2%) – the number two commercial breakfast show
    • Magic (1.2 million up 14%)
    • Hits Radio (340,000 up 37%)

Absolute Radio

  • Absolute Radio Network records best-ever audience figures with 4.7 million listeners – growing 10% YoY
  • Absolute Radio station posts 2.5 million listeners – growing 21% YoY
  • Dave Berry’s show is the number one national commercial Breakfast Show – reaching 2.2 million listeners (17% YoY growth)

Magic

  • Magic Radio Network records 3.9 million listeners – growing 7% YoY
  • Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott’s national breakfast show reaches 1.2 million listeners – growing 14% YoY 
  • Record high performances from Magic Soul (320,000 up 31% YoY) and Magic Chilled (300,000 up 50% YoY) – both record performances

KISS

  • KISS Network reach grows to 5.6 million listeners – growing 4% YoY
  • KISS station reaches 4.6 million listeners
  • Rickie, Melvin & Charlie grow audience to 2.1 million – the second most listened to national commercial breakfast show
  • KISSTORY posts its largest audience figures ever with 2 million listeners (up 17% YoY), making it the biggest digital only commercial station ever.

 

  • The new Hits Radio Brand launches with 6.5 million listeners
  • Hits Radio breakfast show with Gethin Jones, Gemma Atkinson and Dave Vitty reaches 343,000 listeners, growing rapidly by 37.2%
