Bauer Media UK Awards Roundup March 2019

Bauer Media have enjoyed another successful month of awards and nominations, recognising the dedication across our advertising, radio, publishing and central teams – giving further testament to the great work carried out by our teams every day.

Bauer Media UK’s successes in March 2019:

UK Sponsorship Awards

The Absolute Radio Dave Berry Breakfast show with Wickes took home the Sponsorship Continuity award at the UK Sponsorship Awards, recognising the ongoing success of this partnership which has grown from strength to strength since transitioning to The Dave Berry Breakfast Show in June 2018.

Paul Sylvester, Content Director Absolute Radio said, “After seven years, it’s a staggering achievement that it continues to win accolades and is now the most celebrated branded content partnership in commercial radio history.”

A number of other brands were also finalists at the awards, including KISS Ibiza with Carphone Warehouse and Blue 449 in the Best Use of Mobile in a Campaign category and Magic Breakfast with Benson for Beds and RP2 who were shortlisted in the Print, Radio and Film category.

Lexis Nexis Awards

Jonathan Andrews, a trainee solicitor at Reed Smith in Entertainment & Media was awarded the LexisNexis Diversity & Inclusion Award at the LexisNexis Awards 2019.

During his secondment within the Bauer Media legal team, Jonathan helped launch the Diversity & Inclusion forum for Belonging at Bauer and remains an active member. He has since become a committee member of Reed Smith’s LEADRS disability network and it is this dedication to diversity and inclusion that was recognised at the awards.

Belonging at Bauer is our programme of action designed to deliver greater inclusivity and diversity of our workforce in how we work, in how we enable our people to be their true selves at work and in our products.

Transform Awards

Magic Radio secured the Bronze award in the ‘Best brand development project to reflect changed mission/values/positioning’ category.

The Transform Awards are the only ones dedicated to celebrating the rebranding, repositioning and brand development and this category particularly highlights the best repositioning of an organisation to reflect a new approach within a business.

The team at Magic credit Thinkfarm who they collaborated with to support the Magic Radio transformation.

PPA 30 under 30

Jordan Gibbons, Senior Reporter for MCN Magazine was presented with the highly prestigious PPA 30 Under 30 New Talent Award. The awards recognise the achievements of the rising stars across all sectors of professional publishing, as well as create a platform for budding new talent. 

Andy Calton, MCN Editor said, “From inspirational tales of two-wheeled travel, to hard-hitting news stories and road tests, Jordan has turned his hand to almost anything. He’s even an accomplished photographer and has had pictures published in the paper on occasion. That versatility was recognised by the PPA’s New Talent award, which awards under 30-year-olds with this accolade.”

British Media Awards with Campaign

Heat’s Big Night In hosted with TalkTalk has been shortlisted for a British Media Award in the Video Project of the Year category.

The weekly video series was created to build product awareness of TalkTalk’s TV offering through credible recommendations featuring a vast line-up celebrity guests discussing their views, insider gossip and fan reactions.

The British Media Awards are powered by Campaign and recognise media owners and organisations from around the world that are innovating and adapting during such a pinnacle point in the media world and digital age.
