Frank Skinner Returns With His Critically Acclaimed Poetry Podcast

Following the huge success and critical acclaim of the past two series, Comedian and Absolute Radio presenter Frank Skinner is returning with Season Three of his Poetry Podcast, launching on Wednesday 19th May.

During the podcast Frank takes an unpretentious, refreshing and humorous look at some of his favourite pieces of poetry, as well as sharing some of his new discoveries.

This season will be the longest yet with eight new episodes, so more poems and poets to uncover. During the series Frank will be discussing an all-time favourite of his, the Star-Splitter by the legendary American poet Robert Frost, as well as his new lockdown discovery, English poet Ella Frears.

Passionate about poetry, Frank brings his own personal experiences, wry wit and observations to each poem, whether contemporary or classic. Previous series have looked at William Wordsworth, Rita Dove, Philip Larkin, Tadeusz Dabrowski and Cathy Park Hong.

Frank said “The third series includes some of my favourite poetry of all time and also stuff I’ve only recently discovered and have become infatuated with. So, you know when you have a late-night conversation with a friend who tells you amazing tales about their old flames, some you knew and some you never met, and then becomes positively feverish when they talk about their latest love? It’s like that. But about poetry.”

Frank’s enthusiasm for poetry has been so infectious across the last two series that the podcast has reignited many listeners own love for poems, sending them back to read work they haven’t looked at since school, as well as seeking out new pieces.

‘Frank Skinner’s Poetry Podcast’ will be available from May 19th. Listen and download on Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and all mainstream podcast providers.
