Gary Barlow joined Magic Radio as the station goes 100% Christmas

Christmas has officially arrived as Magic Radio went 100% Christmas from Friday 26th November at 9am.

Breakfast presenters Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott were joined on their show by Gary Barlow, who officially flicked over the station to 100% Christmas. This means that the station will only be playing Christmas songs from now until midnight on 26th December.

This is the fourth year Magic Radio has gone 100% Christmas and is a calendar event that many listeners look forward to, marking the start of the festive season.

The station also has a special treat for listeners this year as the one and only Gary Barlow joins Magic Radio to host a unique five-part Christmas series from the 28th November at 5pm.

The musician will be sharing all his favourite memories from the festive season as well as choosing his best loved Christmas songs, as he gets everyone excited for the big day.

Talking to Ronan and Harriet, Gary revealed that his new album ‘The Dream of Christmas’, out today, will be his one and only Christmas album saying “I think you can only make one Christmas album… I thought last Christmas was let’s face it a bit of a letdown, I thought this might be a big Christmas this one, so I am going to go for it.”

He also talked about the next steps for Take That saying, “We might just start tickling a bit of music next year but will definitely tour the year after” and although they won’t be seeing each other this Christmas Gary did comment “There are not many people I call on Christmas Day, but Mark and Howard are on my list.”

Alongside Gary’s brand-new show, Magic Radio also has some other exciting festive shows including Magic Radio 100% Christmas Songs where celebrity guests including Emeli Sandé , Leona Lewis, Stephen Merchant, James Blunt, Westlife and Will Young will be choosing a selection of their favourite Christmas songs.

You can listen to Magic Radio 100% Christmas with Gary Barlow each Sunday evening between 5 – 7pm from the 28th November & on Christmas Eve at 7pm.
