Kiss Appoints New Weekend Early Breakfast Host, Henrie Kwushue

KISS is to welcome another exciting new talent to its burgeoning squad in the New Year. 25-year-old DJ, presenter and broadcaster Henrie Kwushue will be landing on KISS from the 9th January to take on Weekend Early Breakfast from 6-8am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Best known for her work on Spotify’s Who We Be UK’s podcast and contribution to the popular No Signal Radio station online, Henrie also famously presented the Thursday evening drivetime show on community station, Reprezent Radio.

Following her production company’s (HTK Production) well-received docuseries ‘IS YOUR AREA CHANGING’ in 2020, Henrie won the Dazed 100 fund, which allowed her to hire creatives from underprivileged backgrounds to work on the production of a series of short films under the title ‘Untold Stories’.

Today’s news follows the August launch of KISS Breakfast with Jordan & Perri, with contributors Harriet Rose and Amelia Dimoldenberg making up the team. Since then, the station has welcomed Tatum McGreal on Early Breakfast, a refreshed weekend line up AND the reinvigoration of evenings with KISS Nights exploding in November.

On joining the station, Henrie said “I’m really excited to be joining Kiss FM. THE KISS FM!!! I’m excited to be the first thing people hear early on a weekend and I’m so happy to be joining the Kiss family.”

KISS’ Content Director, Rebecca Frank said, “Henrie is one of the UK’s most exciting energies right now. Blending infectious passion for music and culture, with personal connection to listeners – this is just the start for Henrie on KISS. We can’t wait for her to be part of our next phase of evolution in 2021. Bring it!”

Current Weekend Breakfast host Charlie Powell is departing the station in order to pursue new opportunities which will be announced soon.

Rebecca Frank added, “We send a huge thanks to Charlie who has contributed a great deal to KISS over the years both on and behind the mic. We wish her all the best on her next adventure.”
