KISS brings back KISSTORY Festival with KFC

To celebrate Summer, KISS have announced the return of the KISSTORY Festival for 2021 with the help of their official wingman, KFC.

Recent research from Bauer Insider found that 50% of you can’t wait to go back to music events. So, after a year of living-room parties and back-garden jollies, KISS and KFC UK & Ireland are giving festival-goers the real life experience we’ve all been have been craving with two days of the very best Old Skool and Anthems, on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September at Streatham Common.

KFC’s latest ad campaign celebrates the Colonel’s legions of hard-core fans across the country. This new KISSTORY x KFC partnership brings this to life by offering fried chicken fans exclusive pre-festival giveaways, at-event upgrades and exclusive VIP access.

The festival will see artists such as DJ Luck & MC Neat, Oxide & Neutrino and Judge Jules plus live performances from KISSTORY legends Lisa Maffia, Kele Le Roc, Fatman Scoop, Another Level, Artful Dodger and Damage. It will also feature very special old skool sets from KISS DJs Majestic, DJ Q, Tinea Taylor, Scott Garcia, Wideboys, Anton Powers and more.

KFC is sponsoring this year’s KISSTORY Festival following a 1 year partnership with Bauer Media, so they definitely know their Anthems from their Old Skool hits. In 2020, the brand became the headline sponsor for Tyler’s 4-7 pm show, and when the UK went into lockdown the pair buddied up to give away favourites from the menu to listeners across the country. The Colonel would be proud.

Simon Kilby, Managing Director, Bauer Media Advertising, said: “KISSTORY Festival has always been one of our favourite times of the year, and it’s even more special this year since we’ve all been missing live events recently. We can’t wait to be back and host with KFC, who we’ve been working with so collaboratively and brilliantly over the past few months. This new campaign will ensure KFC and KISS will continue to give everything our audiences want – fun, food and fresh music.”

Jack Hinchliffe, Marketing Director, KFC UK & Ireland, added: “Partnering up with KISS for the KISSTORY Festival this summer was an absolute no brainer. We’re excited to finally be bringing people together again – and what better way to celebrate Summer than over buckets and beats?”

The partnership was developed and led by the content and partnerships team at Mindshare.

KISSTORY Festival will be held on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September at Streatham Common. Tickets are on sale now at kissfmuk.com.

About KFC:

In 1952 Colonel Harland Sanders opened the first KFC restaurant in Utah. Since then, his perfectly crafted Original Recipe chicken and its secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices has become famous all over the world, and today we have over 900 restaurants across the UK and Ireland.

The Colonel was all about doing things the right way. That means our chicken is delivered fresh from farm to restaurant in 48 hours. It’s prepared carefully by hand in-restaurant by trained cooks, using the very best chicken reared to strict welfare standards. In July 2019 we took the next big step in our welfare journey and signed up to the Better Chicken Commitment, a set of six criteria that have been designed to improve the lives of all chickens within the KFC supply chain, by 2026. That’s what makes our food so finger lickin’ good.

The right way also means serving fresh proper food, packed with flavour. So, we’ve worked hard to make nutritional improvements across our menu, so our fans have as much choice as possible, and we’ve committed to removing 20% of calories per serving by 2025.

The Colonel also believed in feeding promise, wherever it’s found. So that’s why we invest heavily in the development and careers of our 27,000 employees – we were the first restaurant to launch an honours degree. And since its 2015 launch, our KFC Foundation has paid out grants totalling £5 million to our charity partners who are passionate about developing and nurturing young people across the country.
