The Bauer Academy delivers work-based, multimedia training programmes inside vibrant Bauer Media offices and studios around the UK, which house world class brands such as Empire Magazine, KISS FM, Absolute Radio, Grazia, Q Magazine and Magic Radio. The Academy’s biggest advantage and point of difference is providing training inside one of the biggest media companies in the world.
GET IN will be based at Radio City and has been designed to help anyone aged 16 to 29 who is not in education, employment or training already. The programme aims to give back to the Merseyside community by helping participants gain practical experience, learn new skills and improve their career prospects. Trainees will also be offered mentoring and support with job interviews and writing an effective CV.
To create a dynamic and engaging project, the Bauer Academy and Radio City have partnered with a diverse range of local organisations. This innovative partnership approach demonstrates the desire to provide a unique and meaningful learning experience for all who take part. Enrolment for the programme has already started and will continue until May next year, and once completed Get In will have supported a total of 500 participants.
As part of the project, Radio City will deliver its own unique and intensive 4 week programme to 125 young people. The course is very much aimed at discovering participant’s hidden talents by supporting them to create multimedia content about their lives and their city. As well as having access to the industry standard equipment and studios Radio City has to offer, the training will take place at the top of the iconic Radio City Tower, right in the heart of Liverpool.
During The Radio City 4 week course the participants will work on a ‘live’ commissioned project for Radio City, creating podcasts, videos, photography and articles for the station Gaining experience, skills and evidenced work in a variety of areas including digital media, broadcasting, journalism, communication and content creation.

About the European Social Fund and Youth Employment Initiative:
Across Europe and in the UK the ESF is supporting jobs, helping people get better jobs and ensuring fairer living standards and job opportunities for all EU citizens. It is doing this by investing in Europe’s human capital – its workers, its young people, disadvantaged groups and all those seeking a job. Tens of thousands of ESF projects are active in Europe’s cities, towns, rural communities and neighbourhoods. They are opening doors to skills, to work, to qualifications and to a more inclusive society for all Europeans.
The United Kingdom is using ESF funding to reduce inactivity among young people and the long-term unemployed and to improve training and skills. It is also investing in education and lifelong learning, and is promoting social inclusion by fighting poverty and discrimination.
