Tell us a bit about you:
I am a working mother of two wonderful children – Rohan & Karina. I love exploring and in particular enjoy off-the-beaten track holidays where you get to learn about different cultures and traditions and this was one of the reasons I lived and worked in Japan for a period of time. I’m passionate about food and love trying out new restaurants, reading and going to the theatre. I am also a bit of a swim and gym fanatic and can be frequently spotted in my local gym.
What does your role entail?
I am ultimately responsible for all the cash that Bauer Media UK has and ensuring that we optimise the return we get on it. I manage a specialist team of treasury analysts who help me make sure this happens. In this role, I also manage relationships with our external banking partners and this includes being the Bauer Media representative who meets with agents from the Bank of England.
Tell us a bit about how you came to join Bauer Media?
I grew up in London and after qualifying as a chartered accountant, I had various roles before joining Bauer Media in 2009.
I joined Bauer as I was keen to work for an organisation where I felt I could make a difference. Bauer was a very attractive employer as they were willing to offer me part time hours which was really good as my children were very young at the time I joined.
Over the years, I have changed my hours and I'm currently on my fourth work pattern and Bauer have been amazing at accommodating my requests which has allowed me to progress at work and also be play a huge role in raising my children.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I work part time hours and so my days can be really hectic and challenging, however I am still able to achieve a good work life balance. In addition to my main job, I get involved in a whole host of other work including managing company-wide projects. This allows me to engage with people all over Bauer and makes my job interesting and varied.
Why do you love working at Bauer?
I love working at Bauer as I work with a fantastic team of people who are passionate about our brands and making a difference.
I am proud to be part of an organisation that values people for who they are and their skill set regardless of their background, race, gender or sexual orientation allowing them to be their true selves at work.
What are you proudest of in your time at Bauer?
I am really proud to be part of the winning Belonging at Bauer team who won the “Game Changers” award at Bauer Media Awards this year. It’s fantastic to be an activist of an award-winning team playing a key role in delivering a step change in our culture and celebrating differences.
What advice would you give to anyone looking to join Bauer?
The only piece of advice I’d give to someone looking to join Bauer is to not be afraid to be yourself.
