Audio specifications

Here are our audio spec/instructions/RCC and PRS requirements here at Bauer. Please be aware – All adverts being sent to Bauer Ads now require an RCC number.

Please ensure you send over all this information to us when supplying copy and instructions to us otherwise you will run the risk of your advert not being able to make it to air.

Instructions
We require some details as to how to run the audio, more commonly known as copy instructions. For this we require start and end dates, a full station list to make sure the correct stations are booked/not missing and we will need rotation details if there is more than once piece of audio supplied.

We require all audio and instructions by 1pm the day before the campaign is due to start. This will differ if an ad is due to start on a Saturday/Sunday or Monday as we will need everything by 1pm on the Friday before the campaign is due to start. Any audio that arrives after our deadline will be put on air for the next available opportunity. If your advert isn’t going to be ready on time then please let us know as soon as possible and we can try to arrange something. If no instructions or audio have arrived we will create one cart and load it with one of our audio fillers.

Audio
A 16 bit, 44.1kHz, stereo -12dBFS Wav
We only accept 0.2 of a second either way. For example if the advert is 30seconds we will accept anything between 29.8secs and 30.2secs – preferably we would like it to be exactly 30seconds.

All audio must be accompanied by Instructions, RCC and PRS details.

If the audio is sent through a transfer like Winzip, Hightail or Dropbox can the creative make sure the links have a long enough expiry date on them. We do also accept just an attachment on an email.

RCC
We now require an RCC number for all adverts going out on Bauer stations. This is a number obtained from the Radio Centre and is proof that the advert is clear to go on air. This is especially important if the advert content contains any financial terms, is a 15/18 rated movie, a car dealer, a bank, an over 18s product (horror movie, gambling app) or promoting alcohol. For more information see www.radiocentre.org

If you do not supply us with an RCC number, you will run the risk of us not being able to put your ad on air.

PRS
Due to an agreement we have with the Performing Rights Society (PRS) all adverts going out on Bauer stations require PRS details to be supplied if there is music used in the advert. We do not need to be supplied with the label copy. The information we need for each track used is:

Title of the Track
Composer
Publisher
And if you have these additional pieces of information please also include:
Track Number (if a CD) or Catalogue Number (if it’s from a music library)

If there is no music in the advert then please let us know this information too by telling us the advert is Dry.
