Andy Bush and Richie Firth announced as hosts of Absolute Radio’s new Hometime show

Andy Bush & Richie Firth are to join forces to present the new Absolute Radio Hometime show from September 2018, it has been announced today (11th June).
The new Hometime show, fronted by Bush & Firth, will start in September 2018, just in time for Absolute Radio’s 10th birthday, and is led by firm listener favourites who have more than 15 years experience on-air at One Golden Square.
The new line-up will see the pair team up to front a multi-platform interactive entertainment show with big laughs, natural conversation & great guests. Listeners will form an intergral part of the day’s content via social media.
Andy Bush will be joining the show from the 1-4pm Afternoon slot and Richie Firth from Breakfast. They will continue to present solo shows on Absolute Radio’s digital stations with Bush presenting the Absolute 90s afternoon show & Firth on the Absolute 80s morning show.
Andy Bush & Richie Firth said “This will be a show by the people for the people. No showboating, just us two talking about our lives. We’re looking forward to bringing great music, excellent listener stories and we’ll aim to put a smile on listeners’ faces whilst they’re stuck in traffic. We’re both blessed to have a great relationship with the Absolute Radio listeners, and we want to make a show that’s all about that relationship.”
Paul Sylvester, Absolute Radio Content Director, said “Andy and Richie are two of Absolute Radio‘s best-loved and most talented presenters. Uniting them for this show gives us a new focus and the opportunity to create a programme which lives on-air, on social media and on-demand, talking to listeners as they waste time at the end of the working day, as they commute home and as they cook dinner.”
Ben Burrell will join Leona Graham as host of Absolute Radio‘s No Repeat Guarantee. He’ll take over Andy Bush’s existing 1-4pm show.
Paul Sylvester added: “Ben is a brilliant broadcaster whose rise through the radio ranks demonstrates that traditional radio career paths still exist for talented and tenacious young people. He has constantly evolved and has quickly become one of the station’s most popular presenters. He is the perfect successor to Andy Bush.”
