Bauer’s Magic and Absolute Radio announce promotions

Magic Radio has announced that Sheena Mason is to be promoted to the new role of Deputy Content Director; Sheena will be tasked with leading the Magic programming team and running the station on a day to day basis.

With Sheena stepping away from music scheduling, Magic Radio will create a new joint music team led by James Curran, who is to be promoted to Director of Music -Magic and Absolute Radio.

In James’ team, Absolute 80s, Martyn Lee, will be promoted to Deputy Head of Music, Magic Radio. This new role will focus entirely on delivering the best possible music selection and sequencing.

Magic’s Executive Producer, Tom Seldon, will now lead the station’s Branded Content, an area of huge potential growth. In charge of raising Magic’s game in this area, Tom will work closely with the commercial team to create programming which drives both audience and revenue.

Tom will also work on the increasing number of S&P projects which span both Magic and Absolute Radio. He will report into the other new joint team that Magic Radio is creating led by Dan Wright who will be promoted to Production Director. He will be responsible for imaging on Absolute Radio and for branded content across both brands. Magic Radio’s Head of Production Matt Clark will continue his excellent work to continue to make Magic the friendliest sounding station on the dial and will report directly into Sheena.

Magic Radio will be recruiting a new Social & Digital Manager to lead the strategy and has also appointed Jess Temby as Social & Digital Assistant Producer.  She will work with programming to create content for Facebook, Twitter and the web.

Lastly, after a successful year as Deputy Content Director for Absolute Radio, Paul Sylvester is being promoted to Absolute Radio Content Director, recognising his integral role of running programming across the Absolute Radio Network.

Sheena, Paul and James will report into Group Content Director Magic and Absolute Radio, Tony Moorey.
