heat magazine launches special Boyzone issue in partnership with Sky ahead of No Matter What documentary

In line with the launch of the Sky Original Documentary Boyzone: No Matter What on Sunday 2nd February, Sky and Bauer Media have partnered to produce a special edition of heat magazine dedicated to the band. Covering the boys’ best moments, the nostalgia-filled issue will remind readers of why Boyzone became one of the biggest boybands in history, enticing them to want to find out more by tuning in to the new three-episode docuseries.
The issue, on sale on newsstands from Tuesday 4th February, will be a bold 90s-inspired magazine, including interviews with band members Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch, plus features on their best 90s fashion moments, fact files, a special Now That’s What I Call Quiz and full-page posters. heat also invited readers to share their favourite Boyzone and 90s memories, making the magazine even more of a unique interactive experience.
Part of a wider campaign between Sky and Bauer Media, in addition to working with heat, promotional activity will also be seen across sister magazine Closer and on-air on Magic Radio. Following the special nostalgia issue of heat, Sky will sponsor the ‘Unmissables’ section in heat’s next two issues, where editorial content will highlight the documentary series. In Closer, readers will be treated to a double-page spread and online advertorials on the docuseries.
Supporting the print activity, over the two weeks Magic Radio listeners will hear 40 second spotlights – including details around the show and encouraging listeners to head online to a co-branded creative page on the Magic Radio website to enter a competition to win £1,000. Sky will also sponsor Dan Morrisey’s Perfect Playlist every evening at 7pm for a week.
Nicola Bates, Chief Commercial Officer, Bauer Media Publishing, said: “heat is the beating heart of the showbiz world, continuously connecting readers with their favourite celebrities. Our readers grew up with Boyzone and surely had posters of the boys on their bedroom walls – this special nostalgia issue is the perfect way to get Sky in front of our readers, get them craving the best of the 90s and reach for their remotes to watch the series.”
Eilidh Dawson, Head of Entertainment Marketing, Sky, added: “We’re really excited to partner with Heat on their nostalgia issue, it’s captured the spirit of the 90s, and immerses their readers in the mania surrounding one of the biggest boybands of all time.
