Absolute Radio and KP Nuts partner to launch Virtual Office Christmas Party with Bastille and Blossoms
Absolute Radio has today announced that it is partnering with KP Nuts to save the festive season by creating the UK’s first virtual office Christmas party. Bastille and Blossoms will be the headline performers in the day-long event, on-air on Friday 4th December.
The virtual Office Christmas Party follows research from Bauer Media around new radio listening habits, showing that nearly 40% of Bauer listeners feel like they have a closer relationship to their favourite radio station now compared to before the pandemic. This close relationship made virtual radio events incredibly popular with listeners during lockdown, with Absolute Radio’s virtual live events such as Front Room Festival and its pop-up Absolute Radio 40s station driving highest ever online listening to the Absolute Radio Network.
As part of the partnership, KP Nuts will be launching a ‘Secret Santa’ competition, giving listeners the chance to win some amazing prizes every hour, including weekend breaks, home entertainment systems and new bikes for the family. The sponsorship of the Virtual Office Christmas Party is part of KP Nuts’ wider “Nuts About Christmas” campaign by media agency Starcom, which includes on-air radio promotions and competitions across Absolute Radio and other Bauer Media brands, including Magic Radio, Grazia, Closer and heat, celebrating everything audiences are ‘nuts about’ this festive period.
Bastille will be performing live tracks and chatting to Dave Berry on the Absolute Radio Breakfast show while Blossoms will be joining Andy Bush and Richie Firth for Hometime. Listeners can expect an exclusive performance from the two house-bands, performing a selection of their top hits and Christmas favourites. To bring the epic Office Christmas party to a close, the station is working with KISS FM stable mates the Dixon Brothers who will be doing a very special Absolute 80s mix from 7pm.
Absolute Radio Content Director Paul Sylvester said “Absolute Radio has a huge army of workplace listeners who we know are going to miss out on the annual office shindig, so we wanted to create something special to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. We’ve tried to mimic everything that normally happens with live music, great DJs, Secret Santa and embarrassing photos, but do in the virtual world which we’ve all been forced to inhabit since the pandemic began. We’re delighted to partner with KP Nuts who are as much a part of Christmas as the office party itself.”
Zoe Cashin-Howe, KP Nuts, said: “We know how different this Christmas could be as we continue to face the changing environments. Therefore, what better way to connect with our audience than via radio; as we know music and Christmas go hand in hand. We want to bring joy and entertainment this Christmas, as well as reminding people that KP Nuts are the perfect festive snack”.
The Absolute Radio Office Christmas Party airs 6am-8pm on Friday 4th December. Listen on radio, online, via the Absolute Radio app and smart speaker.
