Bauer Academy and KISS Launch New Internship Programme for Former Premier League Academy Players
Bauer Academy, the in-house training division of Bauer Media, has launched the KISS Internship Programme, a new initiative designed to support young people transitioning from elite sport into the creative and commercial industries.
The programme reflects Bauer’s continued commitment to opening doors for underrepresented talent and building more inclusive pathways into the media industry.
Delivered in partnership with the Premier League Futures programme, the scheme offers former Premier League academy footballers a five-week immersive experience at Bauer Media. The internship aims to help participants build confidence, broaden career horizons, and develop skills transferable suited to roles in media, marketing, and audio.
The inaugural cohort begin their internship this week. During their time at Bauer, the interns will gain practical experience across various departments at KISS, including marketing, social media, sales, and live broadcasting. They will have an opportunity to train in industry-standard radio studios, developing skills in presenting, editing, and interviewing.
In addition, they will participate in Bauer Academy’s development programme, covering areas such as AI, coaching, digital literacy, and confidence building. As part of their internship, they will create and produce an original podcast, supported by dedicated mentors and trainers at Bauer Academy.
Rebecca Frank, Content Director, KISS, commented: “KISS is built on being relevant and accessible. That means reflecting the diverse voices of our audience – and bringing in new perspectives is vital to that mission. It’s a privilege to welcome these creative minds to the team. We’re excited to hear their ideas, their insights into our world, and grow together.”
