Bauer Academy launch first Junior Advertising Creative apprenticeship training with Ogilvy UK

Bauer Academy, the training division of Bauer Media, has today announced the launch of its brand-new training programme ‘Junior Advertising Creative’, a level 3 Apprenticeship which will be delivered to Ogilvy UK’s apprentices in a training programme branded ‘The Pipe’. The ten ‘Pipers’ will take part in the 15 month programme, learning vital knowledge and skills such as creative idea generation, multi-media storytelling, communication and pitching from Bauer Academy tutors, as part of their total experience of working along-side some of Ogilvy UK’s most experienced creative teams.

Made up of a combination of learning methods to give apprentices an immersive and varied experience, the programme will comprise of monthly practical and interactive workshops, assignments, webinars, project work, peer-to-peer learning, mentoring with a development coach and job shadowing, leading to a final assessment.

The introduction of Junior Advertising Creative aligns with National Apprenticeship Week 2021, this year occurring on 8-14th February. Focusing on Building the Future, the week aims to ‘Train, Retain and Achieve’.

This is just one of 14 programmes that Bauer Academy is delivering this year. Producing levy-funded apprenticeship training to clients across public and the private sector – including the NHS, Sue Ryder, ITV, Reach plc., Mullen Lowe, the7stars and OMD – Bauer Academy focusses on apprenticeship programmes that teach digital, journalism, sales, leadership, advertising, and creative skills. Programmes are suitable for learners at all stages of their careers.

Genevieve Potter, General Manager, Bauer Academy, said: “At Bauer Academy we are constantly growing our reputation for industry-immersed training amongst media and advertising agency clients, with many choosing Bauer Academy as their training provider. We’re so proud of our new Junior Advertising Creative programme and the role we’ll play to help foster the next generation of talent at Ogilvy UK.”

Lauren Mollyneaux-Brown, Learning & Development Partner for Ogilvy UK added: “Apprenticeships are a central pillar of our L&D strategy, with participation from early careers like the Pipers, through to some of our most experienced leaders, including a Senior Leaders Level 7 Apprenticeship that’s delivered by Bauer Academy and De Montfort University Leicester. Apprenticeships can create jobs and career movement as well as organisational agility, as skill demands change. They increase diversity and open doors for new and long-standing Ogilvy UK people.”
