Bauer Awards Round Up February

Awards season is well and truly in full swing and Bauer Media can proudly boast to having scooped a staggering 35 nominations this month, certifying our ability to produce ground-breaking and influential content that our audiences love.

These nominations are testament to the teams within the Bauer Media brand network who work tirelessly to create and curate entertaining and engaging content to reach our audience of 18 million listeners.

The shortlists are in and Bauer Media have been nominated in the following:

TRIC Awards

The Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show and The Frank Skinner Show at Absolute Radio have both been nominated in the Radio Programme category. Whilst Ricky, Melvin and Charlie at KISS FM and Dave Berry at Absolute Radio are nominated in the Radio Personality category at this year’s TRIC Awards.

The awards will take place in March 2018.

Broadcasting Press Guild Awards

Absolute Radio has been nominated for the first time at the prestigious Broadcasting Press Guild (BPG) Awards with Frank Skinner nominated for Radio Broadcaster of the Year.

The BGP’s are unique as they are independently selected by TV and radio correspondents, critics and previewers.

The 44th annual BPG awards, sponsored by Virgin TV, will be held at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Friday March 16th 2018.

Campaign Media Awards

The magnificent partnership between Magic Radio and Universal Parks & Resorts has received a nomination for the 2018 Campaign Media Awards. Their work has been recognised in the Travel and Leisure (media partnerships) category.

Our work on the Halifax Reward Squad campaign has also been nominated in the Banks and Financial Services Category.

The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Thursday 12 April 2018.

IRN Awards

Bauer’s radio news teams across the UK have been commended for outstanding reporting in the 2018 Independent Radio News Awards shortlist scooping an amazing 24 nominations.

News teams from across the Bauer City Network have been recognised for their cutting-edge news.

The IRN Awards 2018 in association with Sky News will be held at Sky Cinema, West London on Thursday 22nd March 2018.

Music Week Awards

Absolute Radio and Planet Rock are both up for Radio Station of the Year, while Alex Baker’s Fresh Blood on Kerrang! and Danielle Perry’s Sunday Night Music on Absolute Radio are each nominated for Radio Show of the Year.

This is the fifth year in a row that Absolute Radio have been nominated for the Station of the Year category, and Danielle Perry’s third successive nomination – as many years as she’s been at the station.

The Music Week Awards will take place on Thursday 26^th April at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

UK Sponsorship Awards

The Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show with Wickes has been nominated for Best Radio/Print Sponsorship and Best Continuation of a Sponsorship at this year’s awards.

The UK Sponsorship Awards will be held at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on March 27^th.
