Bauer Media Posts Overall Record Reach, With Growth Across National and Local Brands

Record reach for KISS Network, to 5.5m listeners

KISS and Absolute Radio achieve #1 and #2 national commercial breakfast shows

Growth for Absolute Radio and Magic Networks, extending reach to 4.3m and 3.7m listeners

Bauer City Network grows to third biggest commercial radio network, with audience of 7m

Bauer Radio posts record reach of 17.8m, remaining the #1 digital commercial broadcaster with a record high of 11.6m listeners tuning in on a digital device

  • Record reach for the KISS Network with an audience of 5.5m (+5.4% yoy)
  • #1 national commercial breakfast show for the KISS Rickie, Melvin and Charlie Breakfast Show with 2.1m listeners (+21.4% yoy)
  • KISSTORY is the #2 commercial all digital station with a record 1.5m listeners (+5.6%)
  • Records for KISS London and KISSTORY London with increases to 2.1m (+0.3% yoy) and 612,00 listeners (+0.3% yoy)
  • Record for KISS Fresh with growth to 593,000 listeners (+3% yoy)

  • #2 national commercial breakfast show for The Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show with 1.9m listeners (+14.1%)
  • Absolute 80s remains the #1 commercial all digital station with 1.6m listeners
  • Growth for the Absolute Radio Network to 4.3m (6.1%)
  • Absolute Radio main station posts growth to 2.2m listeners (+10.2%)

  • Growth for the Magic Network with 3.7m listeners
  • New launches Mellow Magic and Magic Chilled post 380,000 and 233,000 listeners

  • Bauer City Network grows to the third biggest commercial radio network, with its audience reaching 7m (+0.6 yoy)
  • Increases in reach achieved across:

o   Liverpool’s Radio City grows audience to 388,000 (+1.6% yoy)

o   Glasgow’s Clyde 1 sees increase to 643,000 listeners (+10.3% yoy)

o   Edinburgh’s Forth 1 posts audience of 366,000 (+7% yoy)

o   Nottingham’s Gem 106 grows to 503,000 listeners (+17.8% yoy)

Digital

  • Bauer Media continues to lead as the #1 digital commercial broadcaster with 11.6m digital listeners (+9.4% yoy)
  • 55.6% of Bauer Radio listening is via a digital device, versus the industry average of 45.3%
  • Growth for heat radio with audience increasing to 872,000 listeners (+4.7% yoy)

Digital radio listening continues to grow at a pace and we’re delighted to continue to lead the field in digital listening, with more than 55% of listening to Bauer radio stations being delivered via a digital device. Bauer is Europe’s biggest commercial radio operator and today’s audience results reaffirm the strength of that position.”
