Classic Cars publishes Porsche 911 Classics Bookazine
Bauer Media is proud to announce the release of Porsche 911 Classics, a stunning new publication from the team behind Classic Cars — Britain’s longest-established classic car magazine.
From the delicate little 2.0S of the Sixties to the savage 996 GT3 RS racing homologation special of the late Nineties, this compilation brings together the very best Porsche 911 features from the Classic Cars magazine back catalogue. This 132-page collector’s bookazine is available on newsstands from 1 October, and it’s as thrilling and colourful as the cars themselves.
Somewhere along its 62-year production run, the Porsche 911 flipped from being a leftfield sports car choice to being the sports car choice. Up until possibly the Eighties, unless you were one of the select few drivers who appreciated its quirky rear-engine dynamics and searing exhaust note, the 911 didn’t always look like much sports car for what was a considerable sum of money. Now, it’s the benchmark — the car rivals aim to beat, and the default choice for anyone with a lust for driving hard and the funds to indulge it. This is a model with an unbroken line of racing achievements, fanatical engineering development, and ever-growing global desirability.
The Porsche 911’s cultural impact is equally impressive. It has starred in iconic films such as Le Mans, Gone in 60 Seconds, the animated hit Cars, forthcoming F1: The Movie and in TV’s Scandi-Noir series The Bridge. Driven by Hollywood legends Robert Redford, Steve McQueen, Jeff Bridges, and Charlie Sheen, its list of famous fans also includes David Beckham, Richard Hammond, Howard Donald, Jay Kay, and Jamie Redknapp — all drawn to its unmistakable character and exhilarating performance.
Phil Bell, Group Editor, Classic Cars, commented: “The Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic and enduring sports cars of all time. This bookazine is a celebration of its evolution, quirks, and brilliance — as told through the eyes of the passionate writers and photographers who’ve followed its journey for decades. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a new enthusiast, there’s something here to ignite your love for the 911.”
Holly Jerram, Publisher – Automotive & Transport, added: “We know how much our readers value deep-dive storytelling and expert insight, and Porsche 911 Classics delivers just that. It’s a beautifully curated collector’s item that captures the spirit of the 911 and the legacy it continues to build.”
Priced at £9.99 (UK) and $19.99 (US), Porsche 911 Classics hits newsstands on 1 October or is available to order from greatmagazines.co.uk.
