Kate Thornton set to host afternoons on Greatest Hits Radio

From Monday November 11th Kate will be on air from 1 – 4pm – directly after Ken Bruce
It has been announced today that from Monday 11th November Greatest Hits Radio’s very own Kate Thornton is to take over the weekday afternoon show on the station.
Already a familiar voice to the 7million strong Greatest Hits Radio audience, Kate will be on air Monday to Friday from 1pm until 4pm, inviting listeners to join her for some great chat and, of course, great music from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Kate’s new show sees her on directly after Ken Bruce, whose move to the station last year helped Greatest Hits Radio to become the country’s most listened to commercial radio station* and she joins a weekday line-up that also includes Simon Mayo at Drivetime and Jackie Brambles in the evenings.
Kate said: ‘What an honour to be trusted with the reins of the afternoon show on Greatest Hits Radio! I’ve loved being a part of the weekend family here for over two years now so it’s a real privilege to be coming to weekdays and spending three hours a day with our ever-growing army of fabulous listeners. I can’t wait to get started and look forward to you all joining me for a chat, a good laugh and some great music from this November.’
Greatest Hits Radio’s Network Content Director, Andy Ashton said: ‘Greatest Hits Radio has already proved to be a game-changer for daytimes on commercial radio and our ambitions don’t stop there. I’m delighted that Kate, a hugely talented and already popular broadcaster with our audience, will be coming to afternoons on the station. We look forward to her bringing the greatest story telling, wit and energy to weekday afternoons, plus of course the biggest songs of the 70s 80s and 90s’
Bauer Media Audio UK also announced today that Hits Radio’s Tom Green will be taking over mid-mornings on Hits Radio Bristol and Hits Radio South Coast with his new fully networked show starting on Monday November 4th.
