
Magnetic announces winners of Spotlight Awards

Magnetic, the marketing agency for consumer magazines, last night announced the winners from its annual Spotlight awards showcase. The awards shine a light on some of the most creative, effective and collaborative advertising campaigns featured in magazine media from 2017.
The Multi-Platform Delivery of the Year went to National Lottery scratch card seller Camelot and its agency The Story Lab (part of Vizeum) for the ‘Laing’s Lucky Streak’ campaign it ran throughout November through an exclusive partnership with Bauer Media’s heat magazine, backed by national TV, digital and outdoor ads.
Working in partnership with representatives from Bauer Media, Dennis, Haymarket, Hearst, Immediate Media, TI Media and Shortlist, the event is designed to inspire agencies and advertisers by highlighting some of the work that best demonstrates what is possible with magazine media. In particular the awards recognise the agencies and advertisers whose work demonstrates the ability to create meaningful conversations and achieve stand out results and engagement metrics.
The awards took place on Thursday 14th June at Soho’s Vinyl Factory, which was transformed into a creative showcase displaying work in an interactive exhibition. In addition Sue Todd, CEO of Magnetic, and Claire Beale, global editor-in-chief of Campaign discussed the merits of the campaigns and the effectiveness of magazine media.
Magnetic’s Spotlight breaks down the winning campaigns into seven distinct categories, including the best of Branded Content, the best use of Digital and other sections celebrating Multi-Platform Campaigns, Newcomers and the Client of the Year.
The awards were judged by: Lotte Jeffs (Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather), Mike Florence (CSO at PHD Media), Claire Beale (Global Editor-in-Chief at Campaign), Sue Todd (CEO at Magnetic), Dino Myers-Lamptey (MD MullenLowe Mediahub), Steve Goodman (MD of Print Trading at Group M) and Andrew Roscoe (Head of Brand at Very.co.uk).
