A brand-new weekday line up is set to start on Monday 9th June with Tim Smith and Fran Godfrey joining the station 

Bauer’s classical music radio brand, Magic Classical, has today announced a new daytime lineup that sees a return of presenters to the weekday schedule and will launch on Monday 9th June

Joining Charles Nove, who will continue to present the Monday-Friday breakfast programme, are former BBC Radio 2 presenter’s Tim Smith, who is taking over on the weekday morning show, and Fran Godfrey who will present Sunday to Thursday evenings. Also joining the new look schedule is a brand-new voice to Magic Classical – Jo Cochrane, a presenter on Bauer’s ARIAS Gold winning station Forth 1 and Magic Soul, who will be on air on weekday afternoons. Tony Minvielle joins from sister station Jazz FM for a Friday night programme.

Of the new look, Nick Pitts (Content Director of Magic Classical and Jazz FM) said: “Since rebranding in September last year and having some time to refocus Magic Classical, it’s great to be able to create a line-up of superb broadcasters on our daytime schedule. Having Tim and Fran join Charles to continue his great work is perfect, while Jo, a consummate broadcaster, is an incredibly exciting new addition for our family.” 

Tim Smith said: “I can’t tell you how pleased and genuinely excited I am to be given this opportunity. I’ve been a fan of Magic Classical since its launch and it’s great to actually now be a part of it, and I look forward to sharing the music and conversation with our brilliant audience.”

Fran Godfrey said: “I’m so thrilled to be joining the team at Magic Classical; truly some of the loveliest people in broadcasting, which is very important to me. An evening show is a wonderful opportunity to play superb music and fulfil my personal challenge to bring calm, serenity and joy – whatever is going on in the world. I can hardly wait!”

0500-0700 – In The Park
0700-1000 – Charles Nove (including ‘Screentime’ from 0900)
1000-1400 – Tim Smith
1400-1800 – Jo Cochrane
1800-2200 – Fran Godfrey (Monday-Thursday, including ‘Mindfulness Music’ from 8pm) / Tony Minvielle (Fri)
