Over 13,000 children across the UK helped by this year’s Cash for Kids Day

Children’s charity Cash for Kids has distributed over £2million to families struggling with the financial crisis through their cost-of-living grants

Thursday April 27th saw a host of activities taking place – including DJ Tyler West completing a 24-hour dance marathon – to raise funds for children across the UK

Over 13,000 children and families (13,214) struggling because of the cost of living crisis will get the support they urgently need thanks to yesterday’s epic fundraiser – the annual Cash for Kids Day.

The fundraising fun for children’s charity Cash for Kids was led by KISSTORY DJ Tyler West who finished an incredible 24 Hour Raveathon – dancing and DJing from 11am on Wednesday 26th until 11am Thursday morning. He was joined throughout the day-long challenge by a number of famous faces including Sam Ryder, Molly Rainford and N-Dubz.

Absolute Radio’s Hometime hosts Bush & Richie summited Snowdon, whilst the team at Greatest Hits Radio were Stuck in the 80s as the new home of Ken Bruce played non-stop hits from the decade.

Cash for Kids is Bauer Media’s UK charity and alongside KISS, Greatest Hits Radio and Absolute the teams from Planet Rock, Magic and Hits Radio also joined in the fundraising fun.

Hits Radio presenters Fleur East and Gemma Atkinson embraced the Dress Like a Popstar challenge reinventing themselves as Spice Girl Mel B and Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher respectively.

Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood designed an exclusive limited-edition t-shirt for Planet Rock and Magic made two lucky Cash for Kids donors very happy by giving away money can’t buy prizes of holidays to New York and Florida.

Families, who were barely managing before, are now finding themselves being pushed into poverty. Paying for the essentials such as heating costs or putting a meal on the table are simply becoming unaffordable. So far, in 2023 the charity has distributed over £2million (£2,028,854) to families across the UK and all donations from Cash for Kids Day will go towards helping those in need because of the current cost of living crisis as, more than ever, the most vulnerable need help.
