Today’s Golfer publishes 64-page Ryder Cup Special in bumper two-mag pack with October issue

Plus… 62-Balls Tested by Robot and England’s Top 100 Courses

Bauer Media’s Today’s Golfer, Britain’s number one golf magazine, tees off its October issue with a special Ryder Cup Special, offering readers two magazines in one bumper pack—available this week.

The Ryder Cup Special is a dedicated 64-page preview of the 45th Ryder Cup, set to take place at Bethpage Black, Farmingdale, New York, from 26–28 September, giving golf fans an in-depth look at one of the sport’s most anticipated events.

Highlights in the special include:

  • Every player on both teams rated
  • Battle plans with Captains Luke Donald and Keegan Bradley revealed
  • Exclusive tactic talk with Team Europe’s Justin Rose, Colin Montgomerie and Paul McGinley
  • Bethpage ultimate Course Guide; where it will be won and lost
  • Plus… Today’s Golfer looks at the match that changed everything and reveals the ‘forgotten’ Ryder Cup

Today’s Golfer Editor Chris Jones said: “Some golf events just hit that little bit different. The Masters signals the start of the golf season. The Open showcases the best of British of golf. But the Ryder Cup fuels the passions of every sports fan, not just golfers.

“Every two years, the 24 best golfers from Europe and the USA stop playing for themselves, don a team uniform and play for their continent. It’s bigger than golf. It is about national pride, coping with immense pressure and stepping up to the plate when the world is watching. Europe brings the form heading into this Ryder Cup. America brings the fire. At Bethpage Black, we are about to see which burns brightest.”

In the main issue, highlights are the magazine’s fourth annual Robot Golf Balls Test, conducted in association with Loughborough University.   For the first time Today’s Golfer has doubled its size, and the whole process has been created digital-first and edited for print.  Digital writers James Hogg and Ross Tugwood tested 62 different tour, club golfer and value balls on Loughborough’s robot (the only accessible golf robot in Europe), hitting five different shots with a driver, iron and a wedge.  It created over 250,000 pieces of data, which have been analysed to create a massive test for readers online and in print, with numerous videos.

The October issue also reveals England’s 100 best courses from Cumbria to Cornwall with the most authoritative rankings in the game.

The 2-mag pack  is available on all newsstands from Thursday 4 September, or to purchase online from greatmagazines.co.uk, as standard and digital versions..
