TV Choice Awards 2026 celebrate the best of British television
A triple win for Emmerdale, Ruth Jones does the double and the numbers game pays off for Lee Mack
The stars were out in force on the red carpet at The London Hilton on Park Lane last night, for the event that’s a highlight of the showbiz calendar.
The TV Choice Awards 2026 saw some of Britain’s biggest celebrity names scoop the coveted trophies, as voted by the British viewing public, the readers of Britain’s best-selling magazine.
As the Awards celebrated its 29th year of honouring TV’s top stars and shows we welcomed showbiz all-rounder Jason Manford back to host the ceremony. And it added up to a great night for some nominees…
There was a clean sweep in all three soap categories for Emmerdale, while Call The Midwife won Best FamilyDrama, with Jenny Agutter denying the stars of Adolescence more acting honours, though the hard-hitting series triumphed as Best New Drama.
The ceremony brought joy for the cast of Gavin & Stacey, as its swansong was named Best Comedy Show and its co-creator and star Ruth Jones took home the Best Comedy Performance trophy.
Claudia Winkleman’s The Traitors won Best Reality Show for the first time, as the hit she’s just left – Strictly Come Dancing – once again waltzed off with our Best Talent Show prize.
Meanwhile having four nominations on our shortlist worked out for Lee Mack, with The 1% Club enjoying its inaugural victory as the Best Game Show.
Then it was time for big celebrations as winners partied into the small hours, toasting another year of great TV.
Reflecting on the TV Choice Awards, Gary Gillatt, Group Editor of TV Choice, said:
‘Every year, the TV Choice Awards are a glorious and heartfelt celebration of television, made unique by the fact that every winner is chosen by our readers. All the talent gathered in the room – actors, presenters and programme makers – knows these trophies represent genuine audience appreciation, and that creates a special warmth and buzz on the night. And as we honour the whole crazy cavalcade of television, it’s wonderful to watch those many worlds collide – the stars of Strictly queuing for a selfie with The Traitors, or real-life vets from Winter on the Farm swapping animal stories with the stars of All Creatures Great and Small.
‘As Britain’s biggest-selling magazine, TV Choice is immensely proud to host such a joyful, celebratory party – bringing the industry together to honour the shows people love most, in truly unforgettable style.’
Fiona Campbell, Publisher of TV Choice, said:
‘The 29th TV Choice Awards were a night to remember! Hosted once again by the brilliant Jason Manford, a stellar line-up of talent turned out for an evening full of glamour, laughter, and joyous celebrations. The stars knew these awards are voted for by our readers, and it was wonderful to see them so genuinely thrilled to receive that recognition.’
