CAR and Parkers cover the Jaguar Type 01

When Jaguar unveiled the Type 01 in New York, we were there to see it. Our coverage of the launch was the most comprehensive, and the most widely viewed, of any publication.

The work was led by CAR News Editor Jake Groves, who saw the car first at an early-access preview held under embargo, and CJ Hubbard, Head of Hub, Cars, who reported from the unveiling event in New York.

It was a significant moment for the motoring world, and we were at the forefront of the coverage. In total, the team produced five videos on the Jaguar Type 00 and Type 01, more than any other publication. Together they have been watched 1.9 million times, drawing 19,000 interactions and 5,200 comments from viewers.

Further coverage across carmagazine.co.uk and parkers.co.uk and a feature on Apple News+ drew significant engagement and took the story to new audiences, and saw CJ Hubbard invited onto BBC News to discuss the car. The story continues in print, with a four-page story in CAR, the UK’s largest car magazine, available from Wednesday 4 November.

Gareth Evans, Group Editor, Digital Cars and Bikes, said: “This was a hugely significant event in the motoring world, and the coverage couldn’t have gone much better. Jake and CJ put together a package of content that significantly expanded the reach of both titles across social media and YouTube, in print, on the brands’ websites and on Apple News. It was brilliantly measured, expertly packaged and successful across every channel.”

Phil Bell, Group Editor, Cars, said: “It’s easy for coverage of a hot topic to drown in the noise when everyone is flooding the market with stories. The CAR and Parkers team built their coverage on unique angles and rich insight, and that is what gave it real cut-through.”
