Kerrang! Radio welcomes Alyx Holcombe to weekday evenings

Kerrang! Radio has welcomed a new presenter to its evening line up. DJ, presenter, producer, and podcaster Alyx Holcombe has joined the station this week to host a brand-new show from 6-9pm every Monday to Thursday.

Alyx’s goal for the new Kerrang! Radio show is to celebrate everything new in Rock and Metal no matter how big or small the band is.

With her musical knowledge and eye for discovering talent, there is no doubt this show will rock the hearts and minds of Kerrang! listeners whilst also celebrating and adding to the diverse line up that Kerrang! Radio has.

Alyx already hosts the podcast ALYX PLAYS PUNK and co-hosts ‘On Wednesdays We Wear Black’ which charted number #2 on Apple Music Charts.

Alyx Holcombe said “It feels very surreal joining the Kerrang! team, I’ve loved the station since I was young. I can’t believe I’ve got my own show?! My life feels very mad at the minute but in the best way possible. I can’t wait to start!”

Ric Blaxill, Programme Director for Kerrang! Radio said “I’m delighted Alyx is joining Kerrang! She is a passionate music fan and a natural broadcaster.  Her energy will strengthen both the stations relationship with listeners and the music industry”.

Also, this week, Kerrang! Radio announced the winner of their competition ‘The Deal’, in association with Marshall Records and Download Festival which offers one unsigned band the opportunity of a lifetime. Kerrang! breakfast presenter Sophie K revealed Aniimalia as the winners of the competition which saw over 1,000 entries and 13,000 public votes. The band will receive a record deal with Marshall Records, as well as a slot at Download Festival.

On the success of the Kerrang! Radio competition Ric Blaxill said “We were blown away by the quality of bands entering The Deal and how listeners engaged with it.  Many congratulations to winners Aniimalia who now have a deal with a great label, are being produced by a great producer (Romesh Dodangoda) and are on the bill at Download”
